Background
Papouli’s was founded by George Patras, who honed his hospitality skills running well-known establishments in Chicago before moving his family to Macon, Georgia. After recognizing a need for Greek cuisine in the Southeast, George and his wife, Kathye, opened the first Papouli’s in 1986, originally serving an all-Greek menu of family recipes from their homeland. Over the years, the family-run business expanded its menu to include favorite dishes from across the Mediterranean, and it remains a beloved, family-owned destination in Macon.
