Background

Brickyard Golf Club was originally built in 1961 by Charles “Chic” Adams as Riverside Golf and Country Club. In December 2003, brothers Kenneth and Alfred Sams Jr. purchased the club, envisioning a true championship-caliber course for Central Georgia that would honor their personal ties to Macon golf. They contracted former PGA TOUR player Mark McCumber to redesign the course and facilities, which reopened in 2005. Now an immaculately maintained private club with roughly three hundred members, Brickyard has been ranked among the best golf courses in Georgia by Golf Digest and hosts the annual Brickyard Collegiate Golf Championship.
