Barks N Brews is Macon’s off-leash dog park and bar, located on Riverside Drive in Macon, Georgia. Macon native Kate Lambert Barnes opened Barks N Brews in 2021 after recognizing a need in her hometown for a place where people could bring their dogs to play off-leash while enjoying time outdoors themselves.
The park spreads across more than an acre of fenced-in, partially turfed space, giving dogs of all shapes and sizes room to run, jump, and fetch. The secure fencing gives owners peace of mind, and a designated area for smaller dogs ensures that pups of every size can play safely and comfortably. At the heart of the property is an Airstream trailer that serves as the bar, offering a rotating selection of draft beer, wine, ciders, seltzers, and non-alcoholic drinks. Owners can grab a cold beverage and socialize with other dog lovers while their pets enjoy the park.
Barks N Brews operates on a membership model, with day passes, monthly passes, and annual memberships available for purchase online or at the front gate. The entry fee is per dog and free for people without a pet, so guests can come along even without a four-legged companion. For the safety of all visitors, dogs over one year old must be spayed or neutered, and proof of up-to-date vaccinations is required upon entry.
Beyond everyday off-leash play, the park has become a neighborhood hangout and community gathering spot.
